Winter Week 2
One week with Equi English
Monday 16 February
Firstly I woke up at 8 am, then I ate my breakfast (some bread with chocolate and water). After that I am prepared with horse riding clothes to have my English lesson. Grace taught me to organise a question with “what, who…”, I have an activity about Valentine’s Day ( symbols, gifts…). To finish this lesson I started an activity with verbs, it was very interesting! Next with Grace we went to the stables to brush the ponies. I take care of Badjer, Swing and Brooke. Then we fed Rory, Shrek, and Annie. After this activity I ate my lunch. It was a really good sandwich with salad, tomato and cheese. I have a break after the meal so I revise my school work. At 2 pm a new person arrived: Carmen. She dropped her baggage and we walked to the stables. This afternoon we did a ballad. I ( Rose) had Shrek and Carmen rode Swing for the first time! During this riding Grace took Albert and we visited the village. There were a lot of dogs, and at some point the horses were scared!! In a field we started a canter. It was really funny!!! When we got back to the stables we took care of our horses and materials. For example I washed Shrek’s tail with shampoo and Carmen washed too but the bridles. After that together we brushed Rory. He was very dirty! When we finished we went to the house and played Uno with hot chocolate and some “cakes”. Carmen won the game. Next we took our shower and we also took a break while we talked about our animals and games. Now we wait for dinner and then we will have a good night.
Tuesday 17 February
Like yesterday I woke up at 8 am this morning and I am prepared with horse riding clothes . I had breakfast: water with bread and brioche. After that we went to the stables to take care of horses. We went out with the ponies, I took Jamie and Brooke. They were very excited to run in the paddock. I switched the covering of Georges Jack and I brushed Zulu. With Grace we went back to the house for my English lesson. Today I finished the exercise with verbs in the past tense and we started a very interesting activity about the Great Fire of London. It was a written comprehension. Then it was time for breakfast so I took the same sandwich that I had yesterday and it was really good! Next I took my material to do horse riding in a new riding arena outside the stables. For that we took the truck and Shreck. When we arrived I prepared myself and Grace prepared Shrek. During this lesson we did dressage. It was really good ! The pony is very cool so it is easy to be comfortable. We worked the canter on circles and “serpentines”. When the lesson ended Shrek was hot. I brushed him when we got back to the stables and I also put on his covering ( those of Rori and Georges too. I brushed Georges because before he was in a paddock and I joined Carmen to take care of Badger. This pony is very funny! But suddenly the electricity turned off. Fortunately during the evening it came back. I took my shower and then we went downstairs to eat dinner.
Wednesday 18 February
Like every morning today I woke up at 8 o’clock and I dressed up with horse riding clothes. Then I had my breakfast so I ate some bread and brioche with chocolate. After that we went to the stables and I took Rory to wash his tail so I took off his cover and I walked with him to the shower place. He was really nice and cute! Next I took Rubix to clean his tail too ant to brush him. Then I joined Carmen to help her because she brushed the ponies. I take care of Jamie and Brooke. They are so kind! To continue this day I went home to have my English lesson. It was a very interesting lesson since today I discovered and learned equestrian vocabulary (muzzle, crest…). We ate our lunch. I had the same sandwich because I really like it. We had a long break so I practiced my code. During the afternoon Carmen, Michelle and I visited Michelle’s friend. With her we created a woollen dwarf. It is very cute with its wooden nose. We also played Uno and it was really funny! When we came back home I took my shower and I had a break while I practiced my code. Now we will eat our dinner: burgers, so cool !
Thursday 19 February
Today I woke up at 8 o’clock and I dressed up with equestrian clothes. After that I went to the stables and I prepared Shrek to ride indoor. So I washed his feet and I brushed him. Then with Grace and Dolly we took the truck. During this lesson I did “cession a la jambe” and Shrek was incredible! When we got back to the stables I brushed Shrek and Georges and Jack. Jack was really dirty! Then I joined Carmen to get back Rubix and the ponies in the boxes. After that it was the time and I had a break; During this break I practised my code. Next I did my English lesson so I did a written understanding and Carmen worked on her stage report. At 15 o’clock we went to the stables to brush and change the pony’s cover. So I took care of Badger, Brooke and Buster and Carmen brushed Swing and Jamie. With Carmen we also prepared the food horses for tomorrow. The floor was dirty so we swept the stables. At 18.00 we took our shower and had a break. Now we will eat our dinner: Pasta!
Friday 20 February
Like yesterday I woke up at 8 am this morning and I am prepared with horse riding clothes . Then I took my breakfast and I went to the stable to take the ponies. So I brushed Buster and Jamie and I changed the cover of Georges because he had to go in the paddock. I brushed Jack and Georges when they got back in their boxes. . The floor of the saddle pad room was dirty so we swept the stables and then we fed horses. They were so hungry. Then it was time for lunch and break. After that we took Shrek and Swing for a jumping lesson. They were so happy to jump! I washed the foot of Shrek and I brushed him. Then with Carmen we had a snack. Next I had my English lesson. I did a Cambridge exercise. It was difficult but very interesting. Now I will take my shower and then we will eat pizza.
