Summer Week 4
14/07 :
Today we woke up at 8:30 a.m. Michelle came and said “wakie wakie rise and shine”. We got ready in fifteen minutes and went downstairs for breakfast. We brushed our teeth and finished to get ready and then we headed to the stables all together. There, we changed our shoes and began to brush all the ponies and horses. Appoline, Carla and Leah brushed Benson. Ella and Iris brushed Annie and Shrek. Alix and Andrea brushed Goerge. Garance and Anne-Sophie brushed Zulu and Rubix. For the first riding lesson, Iris was riding shrek, Carla was riding Brooke and Alix was riding Rory. They did their lesson with Leighton and worked on serpentines. During that, Appoline and Ella washed Rubix’s tail. Andrea and Leah went to get Albert and Archie from the field. Afterwards, it was time for the second riding lesson. So Garance helped Ella to tack up George, Leah helped Andrea to tack up Zulu and Anne-sophie and Appoline prepared Archie and Annie. They did their lesson with Grace and worked on leg yields. While they were having their lesson, Garance brushed the numnahs, Carla and Leah shampooed Brooke’s tail and finally, Alix and Iris brushed Badger. Then the horses came back from their lesson so Garance and Leah could do theirs. They rode Rubix and Swing and Leighton did their lesson. During that, Iris, Alix, Carla, Anne-Sophie and Appoline did the hay in the fields. Three of them got to go behind the quad in the wheelbarrow and Appoline drove it with Grace. It was very fun ! Ella brushed Buster. Andrea swept the ponies floor and cleaned the bridles and saddles. Around 1:30 p.m. we went to have lunch. We ate sandwiches with fruits and crisps. As a dessert we had cakes. We had a little break of 20 minutes before the English lesson. We were separated into two groups. Garance, Ella, Andrea and Appoline with Leighton on the table outside. And the others with Grace in the living room inside. The first group worked on phrasal verbs and the second group worked on presenting themselves. We had brioche as a snack. We went directly to the swimming pool with Leighton and Michelle driving us. There, we played with a balloon, and we played on the slides too. Around 7:10 p.m. we got back by car to the house. We are currently writing the blog and we are going to eat dinner soon, we are very hungry ! 😃🤩
15/07 :
On this beautiful Tuesday Michelle came to wake us up at 8:30 in the morning. We had breakfast, brushed our teeth and headed directly to the stables. The first group tacked up their ponies. As yesterday, Iris rode Shrek; Alix rode Rory but Carla changed and rode Swing (she really liked him), they were with Grace and they did leg yield. During that, Appoline and Ella brushed George, Albert, Rubix and Zulu.Garance and Anne-Sophie brushed Benson and Annie; Andrea lounged Alf with Leighton (to train her galop 5). Afterward, the other group prepared for the second riding lesson, they also changed horses : Appoline rode Shrek, Andrea rode George, Ella rode Zulu and Anne-Sophie rode Rory. Leighton did their lesson and they did pole work. The other girls untacked the ponies from the first lesson, they sponged and brushed them. Then they began to paint their horse shoes. The second group came back from their lesson, so the third group could do theirs. Lea and Garance rode Swing and Annie and did their lesson with Grace. They did pole work too. While they were working; Ella, Andrea, Anne-Sophie and Appoline did the hay with Leighton. The other girls continued painting. At the end of the third lesson, we all took care of Rubix and Swing and we fed the horses. Then we got back to the house to have some lunch, we ate as usual. At the beginning of the afternoon we had a 50 minute break after that we all went outside to do our English lesson with Leighton. We wrote about the horse body part, on the bridle and on the sidle. At snack time,a journalist came to discover equienglish to put information in her article in the local press. We had ice pops and pancakes. Then we went to the stable and the women took a picture of all of us. Iris and Alix prepared their pony for an extra dressage lesson. They rode with Leighton on their Galop 5 reprise at the same time the other girls did a lot of different things in the stable. Anne Sophie(Rory),Andrea(Zulu) and Appoline(Annie) also had an extra dressage lesson with Grace. Around 7:15p.m.,we took the rest of the horses to the fields. Now we are typing the blog and we are going to have dinner soon but sadly Michel won’t be eating us. 😉🤩

This morning Michelle woke up Anne-Sophie at 8:00 a.m. for her usual riding lesson on Wednesday. The other girls continued to sleep until 9:15. However, some were up earlier. We had breakfast around 9:30. We ate bread, cereal, eggs and fruit juice. Anne-Sophie joined us after to have her breakfast too. We went upstairs to finish getting ready. Then we had our English lesson on the chairs outside with Leighton. Today, we worked on a drama, we trained several times and Leighton helped us to find accessories for each character. At the end of the lesson, Iris and Alix went to the stables to have a dressage lesson with Grace. They rode Shrek and Rory as usual. During that, we had a long free time, we could stay in our bedroom or outside. We had lunch around 1:30 p.m. Afterwards we had a short free time. At 3:00 p.m. we put our shoes on and got into the cars with Leighton and Michelle. They drove us for one hour to Poitiers, where we went to do pulse ups and bowling. We separated in two groups : Iris, Alix, Leah and Carla started to pulse up while Garance, Anne-Sophie, Andrea, Ella and Appoline were bowling. Pulse up is a game in a room with red and green squares on the floor moving (there are different missions to achieve in 25minutes). Then, we changed the activities and all had a lot of fun at the end. Around 5 p.m. we got back to the house and headed directly to the stables to help to put the horses in the fields. We also helped with the hay and with cleaning the tack. At 6:40 p.m. we went back to the house (but Andrea stayed in the stables to help Grace) to have our showers. We also played a very fun card game : kems (with Appoline, Iris, Alix, Ella, Carla and Leah). At 8:30 p.m. we went downstairs to write the blog. Tonight, for dinner, we are eating burgers ! 😊😽
17/07 :
Michelle came to wake us up between 8:00 and 8:30 a.m. and we went downstairs to have breakfast. Then we brushed our teeth and got to the stables. We started the day by brushing the horses and ponies. Some brushed together and some brushed by themselves. Alix, Iris and Carla were the first to have their riding lesson with the same ponies as Tuesday. They were with Leighton and worked on directions. During that time, the other girls finished brushing all the horses. Then, we began to tack up the horses for the next lesson : we tacked up Zulu for Leighton, George for Grace, Annie for Andrea, Rubix for Ella and we took Swing for Appoline and Shrek for Anne-Sophie. We went on a hack ! We did walk, trot and we also cantered. We had a lot of fun ! The other girls continued to paint their horse shoes. When the girls from the hack came back, we untacked the horses and Grace went directly back for a hack driving a quad this time with Leah and Brooke and Garance and Swing. They did a tour around the lake. While the other girls were hacking, we cleaned the numnahs , bridles and saddles. When Garance and Leah came back, we all helped them to take care of their horses and got back to the house. The girls who had to ride in the afternoon didn’t change and the others changed in short. We had lunch. Afterwards we play cards together. Then we went for our English lesson downstairs: some girls inside and someone inside. Grace’s group listened to an audio and Leighton’s group did a Cambridge test. We had muffins as a snack. Then we headed directly to the stables. We put ponies’ rugs on. Anne-Sophie, Andrea and Appoline had their second dressage riding lesson. It went very well.After, it was time for Iris and Alix to do their dressage test, they did well. We sponge their ponies and brought them to the field. We are currently typing the blog and we are waiting for dinner. Afterwards, we are going to take our showers. 😀😘
18/07 :
Today, we woke up earlier than usual : Michelle came at 7:10 a.m. We had a long day to go. We had breakfast and prepared. While some girls were finishing brushing their teeth, Anne-Sophie, Andrea and Appoline went to the stables to tack up their horses for their last dressage lesson. The girls brushed the horses and ponies. This morning, the weather was bad. It was storming and raining, but not for a long time. The three girls did their G5 dressage test. Ella went for a hack with Brooke and one of Grace’s students who was riding Rubix. After that, Appoline tacked up Shrek, Iris tacked up Swing and Anne-Sophie tacked up Annie. The ones who weren’t riding settled up the jumps. They had their jumping lesson with Grace and all had a very good time. Andrea brushed Jack and Alf with Garance, Ella brushed Benson and Albert. Alix, Leah and Carla filmed the lesson. After, it was time for Ella, Andrea and Alix’s jumping lesson. They rode Zulu, Annie and Shrek with Leighton. During that time, Appoline brushed Archie. Iris, Leah, Carla and Garance did the hay in the fields. Afterwards, the last girls had their jumping lesson with Leighton : Carla rode Jamie, Garance rode Rubix and Leah rode Swing. Ella, Andrea, Iris, Alix and Appoline did the hay with Grace. Andrea and Ella got to drive the quad. We had a lot of fun. Garance and Anne-Sophie were cleaning up the numnas, saddles and bridles during that. Anne-Sophie also washed Shrek and Rory’s tail. At the end of the morning, we all put away the wings and polls. We all tidied up our stuff from the stables and went back to the house to have our lunch. We had a 20 minute break at the beginning of the afternoon. At 2:30 p.m. it was time for our English lesson, one group inside with Grace and the other outside with Leighton. Leighton’s group finished their Cambridge test and Grace’s group worked on songs. Then, we did the drama in the garden, the audience really liked it. We headed to the lake with Grace and Michelle. Unfortunately, Leighton couldn’t come with us because he had some work to do. We started paddling and canoeing on the lake .Then we had fun on the slide. We all had dinner together. We were also with Kirsty, Fisher and their two students. Iris’ grandfather joined us with his camping car for dinner. We had Kirsty’s cake for dessert and it was delicious. Around 8:00 p.m. we left. Now we are writing the last blog of the week. After that, the girls who are taking the train tomorrow are going to take their riding stuff from the stables. We are going to take our showers and pack our bags. And then it will be time to sleep. We are very sad that the week is over. 🥹🩷🩵
